1. Who We Are

LADON messenger is an end-to-end encrypted messaging application. Contact: info@ladon.app

2. Waitlist & Newsletter

When you sign up for the LADON messenger waitlist, we collect:

• Email address — to send you the confirmation email and future updates about LADON messenger
• Hashed IP address — stored as a one-way hash solely for rate-limiting purposes; we cannot reverse it to your real IP
• Timestamp — when you signed up and confirmed

We do not use tracking pixels, analytics, cookies, or any third-party tracking in our emails or on our website.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email we send. Your data will be marked as unsubscribed and you will not receive further communications.

3. Email Delivery

Emails are sent via Microsoft 365 (Graph API). Microsoft processes the email delivery on our behalf. No email content or subscriber data is shared with any other third party.

4. LADON messenger Messenger App

The LADON messenger app is designed with zero-knowledge architecture:

• End-to-end encryption — all messages are encrypted using the Signal Protocol (Double Ratchet) with post-quantum extensions. Only the sender and recipient can read messages.
• No metadata collection — our relay servers do not log who communicates with whom, when, or how often.
• No phone number required — we do not require personal identifiers to use the app.
• Local key storage — cryptographic keys are generated and stored exclusively on your device.
• No cloud backups — messages are not backed up to any cloud service unless you explicitly choose to.
• Cover traffic — the app regularly sends encrypted dummy data at constant intervals, making it impossible for network observers to distinguish real messages from background noise.

5. Push Notifications (APNs)

LADON messenger uses Apple Push Notification service (APNs) to notify you of new messages. When push notifications are enabled:

• Apple receives a device token that identifies your device for delivery. This token is also stored on our relay server to send push notifications to your device.
• Push payloads contain no message content — they only signal that new data is available for download.
• Apple may learn when a notification is delivered, but not who sent it or what it contains.

You can disable push notifications entirely by enabling polling-only mode in the app settings. In this mode, no device token is shared with Apple or our servers, and the app fetches messages on its own schedule.

6. Tor Network Routing

LADON messenger can route all communication through the Tor anonymity network to hide your IP address from our relay servers. When Tor is enabled:

• Your traffic passes through multiple Tor relays operated by independent volunteers worldwide. These relays can see encrypted traffic passing through them, but cannot read its content.
• Our relay server sees only the Tor exit node's IP address, not yours.
• Tor is enabled by default. You can disable it in the app settings if you prefer a direct connection.

7. Website

The ladon.app website does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts. We do not collect any data beyond what you voluntarily submit (e.g., your email for the waitlist).

8. Data Retention

Waitlist data is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. You can request complete deletion of your data at any time by contacting info@ladon.app.

9. Your Rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/DSG) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Data portability

10. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for all connections, secure key storage, and regular security audits. Open-source publication and independent audits are planned.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via our newsletter or on our website.
